Please join us the weekend of Oct. 8-9 to hear Rev. Robert J. Karris, O.F.M. speak at all Mass about a ministry providing direct relief to the poor throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Fr. Karris will share personal witness about Food for the Poor's mission to care for the destitute as a means of living out the Gospel mandate to love one another. Fr. Karris was ordained for the Franciscan Order in 1965. Before preaching on behalf of Food for the Poor, he taught at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, was provincial Minister of his province, was General Councilor of the Order and was stationed in Rome. Fr. Bon is Professor Emeritus of St. Bonaventure University in New York where he worked for over 16 years. He has published more than fifteen books and continues to write and edit from his home at St. Peter in the Loop of Chicago.
The holidays can be especially hard for people grieving a loved one. You don't have to go through it alone. On Dec. 12th at 1 PM in St Patrick church hall, there will be a program called "Navigating Grief Over the Holidays". It is for anyone grieving a the loss of a loved one. Fr Mark will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation while practicing social distancing. Reconciliation will be celebrated in the main entryway of the Church at the following times: St Patrick Thursday April 2, 5-6 PM Friday April 3, 5-6 PM Saturday April 4, 3-4 PM Sunday April 5 10-11 AM Thursday April 9 5:30-6:30 PM Friday April 10 10-11 AM Saturday April 11 3-4 PM St Mary, Hanover Tuesday, April 7 4:30-5:10 PM St Mary Dorchester Tuesday April 7 5:30-6:30 PM People are to observe social distancing in front of the church, on the steps and sidewalk with one person at a time receiving the sacrament of reconciliation inside the entryway. Fr Mark will be wearing gloves and a mask, and the chairs will be set at a safe distance.
